WMS Scan

A Warehouse Management System (WMS) that is able to support your current operations increases the efficiency of your warehouse. However, the specific requirements for a WMS can change fundamentally over time. It is therefore extremely important to examine the current and future requirements of a WMS to identify any weak points and correct them using suitable measures.
WMS Scan is a method that we developed for effectively examining the current and future requirements of a WMS. Within a short period of time, the WMS Scan method provides you with a neutral and compact analysis and assessment of the situation. The focus of the analysis is on the functionality, processes, performance, and support of the WMS.
What We Provide
We use our WMS Online Selection service for an in-depth examination of the supported and missing functionality of a WMS. To do this, we put the WMS into the WMS Database and compare its current and future requirements with those of more than 85 other systems. The results of this comparison show what functionality is supported and what is missing and this information can be used to decide whether to keep, customize, or replace the WMS.
We document and analyse the current processes and by doing this we uncover process that are not supported properly by the WMS or circumvent it altogether. Non-value adding processes, defect-handling processes, and support processes are visualized and refined in a list of weak points/measures.
We examine the performance of the system by recording and evaluating data gathered on-site (for example, time logging or video documentation) or other performance data made available to us. The latency behaviour of the WMS is documented by this service and made available for the decision making process.
Support contracts are usually signed early on in a WMS project and contain many different aspects that are no longer relevant when the system is actually in use later on. For this reason, it is very important to critically examine the service components included in the support, release, and hotline contracts. We will help you examine these contracts and decide if you want to keep, customize, or get out of them.
Results – Your Benefits
The goal of WMS Scan is the objective preparation of the decision situation at hand. All of the aspects of a system that are relevant when deciding to customize, replace, or keep it are analysed and summarized in a report for you.
