The warehouse logistics team was founded in February 2000 and is comprised of engineers and computer scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics and consultants from IPL.

The interdisciplinary makeup of the team facilitates the creation of integrated solutions for logistical and material flow tasks.

Applied Research

"Research that has immediate benefits” is the motto of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics. The goal of IML’s scientific activities is to create optimal solutions for specific branches of the industry. The benefits for companies are always in the foreground.

Performance Spectrum

  • We develop strategies for you for the economic operation of logistic systems and elaborate concepts for the structure of production logistics and the distribution of goods.
  • We plan, simulation, and realize networked material flows and logistic systems for use in the industry, trade, and the supply of services.
  • We develop computer-supported planning and simulation tools for the industrial suppliers and users of modern material flow components.
  • We elaborate analysis methods and optimization processes for logistic problems. These processes and methods are used, for example, in distribution systems that encompass all of Europe.
  • We construct and develop innovative, mechanical engineering components and systems for realizing physical material flows (including controlling devices and peripheral devices).
  • We realize these components and systems in pilot systems with our customers.

Company

IPL Consultants is an independent consulting agency specializing in flow control and operations management in connection with information technology. IPL was founded in 1986, the result of a cooperation between the Technical University Eindhoven and TNO.The company became independent in 1994 and was taken over by employees on 1. January 2000. Logistics management, and information and communication technology are the main focus areas, other activities include strategy development, marketing, organization, quality control and knowledge management. All employees are skilled and experienced in their activity fields. Senior employees can draw from a wide range of experience in the industries targeted by IPL.

Main Focus Areas

The main focus areas of IPL Consultants are logistic improvements, package selection (ERP, CRM, WMS) and logistic training. IPL invests a lot of energy in researching the functionalities of software packages.

Target markets

The company addresses medium and large businesses in industrial material flow and supply chains. The target group includes all links in these chains, producing as well as transporting (3PL) and retailing companies.

Package Selection is one of the main focus area of IPL Consultants, and includes ERP, CRM or WMS systems, or a combination of these systems.

IPL Consultants use their experience and expertise in logistics and operations management, combined with a competent understanding of the functionalities of the available software, to support businesses in formulating their requirements and wishes. To gain the necessary insight in available improvement opportunities – short term and especially long term – IPL Consultants commonly carry out an ICT Scan.

Using detailed information on the available packages, IPL can efficiently devise shortlists of potentially suitable packages. Well prepared package demonstrations must offer a good range of choices. IPL supports companies with this process.
