Logistics Group International lets inconsoWMS Automotive take the steering wheel

06.05.2010

Planning and delivery security working smoothly

Logistics Group International GmbH (LGI) belongs to the TOP 10 of the industrial contract logistics companies in Germany and delivers synchronously parts and components from various suppliers with the production to famous automobile manufacturers. For the control of these processes, LGI has decided to use inconsoWMS Automotive and will be relying upon the software from the leading supplier of consulting and software solutions for logistics in Germany at the supplier logistics center in Böblingen and at other sites.

With the project S.A.L.S.A (System for Automotive Logistics and Service Accounting), LGI strives to optimize its processes. Typical for this industry, all delivery processes are synchronized according to Just-in-Time and Just-in-Sequence requirements; even the production critical so-called KO parts are delivered synchronous to the production lines of the manufacturers with the production and in the required sequence. All processes from cross-docking of received goods for the whole plant to the warehouse organization, the pre-assembly through to the synchronized routing control must be planned and controlled according to this principle. The transparency of the processes is hereby secured through special control monitors which are setup for the specific requirements of JIT and JIS processes. In order to improve the inventory and process security even further, RF supported goods receiving, order picking and shipping processes were implemented. Efficiency and quality improvements were achieved also through a comprehensive automation.

inconsoLSA supplements the automotive solution – this integrated an exact service oriented customer invoicing process into the entire solution.

Because LGI had already worked with the teams of inconso AG since 1996, a comprehensive project plan was set up for this new step. For the replacement of the previous system and the integration of inconsoWMS Automotive, a five month timeframe was foreseen. This requirement is achieved thanks to the high level of standardization of the product and a streamlined project management. LGI is now the sixth logistics service provider to successfully implement the inconsoWMS Automotive solution since its market entry two years ago.
