09.08.2010

Long-standing KNAPP customer Multipharma also trusts KNAPP for warehouse logistic software. The Warehouse Management System was decidedly convincing in the face of notable competitors.

With this commission Multipharma continues to rely on the partnership with KNAPP. Startup is planned for the first quarter in 2011. In the future, with KiSoft WMS, Multipharma can control all warehouse processes and areas with a single software system, and can profit from continuous lot tracking. KiSoft WMS optimizes all warehouse areas from goods-in to goods-out, including returns. Using a standard interface, the WMS is coupled to the already existing ERP system by SAP.

Several years ago KNAPP automated a part of the Multipharma warehouse in which an OSR Shuttle™ with two work stations was installed, as well as two fast-mover autopickers and KiSoft WCS for material flow control. For oversized goods or anaesthetics, system-guided RF picking will continue to be used.

Multipharma is one of the leading pharmaceutical wholesalers in Belgium. The product portfolio has around 13.000 items. The Group Multipharma owns 250 pharmacies, which are supplied daily from the distribution centre in Brussels. In 2008 the company achieved a turnover of 370 million Euros with approximately 1,400 employees.

The KNAPP Group, with 26 sales and service offices around the world and approx. 1,700 employees worldwide, develops best-of-class software solutions in the logistics area with more than 400 software engineers.
