Book wholesaler and media distribution rely on Warehouse Management software from inconso AG

With an investment volume of over Euro 150 million, Koch, Neff & Volckmar GmbH (KNV) and its subsidiary Koch, Neff & Oetinger Verlagsauslieferung GmbH (KNO VA) are building a new central logistics location for the book wholesale and the delivery for the publishing in Erfurt with over 1,000 jobs.

On the 315,000 m² location, the new logistics center “KN Logistik” with a building size of 1,290,000 m³ and a covered area of 175,000 m² will be built. Over 300 Pick-by-Light picking locations are planned.

The leading European software supplier for logistics inconso will deliver and integrate the warehouse management software inconsoWMS X and the material flow control system inconsoMFS. The total logistics concept was planned by IWL AG from Ulm, Germany. The relocation starts in mid-2014 and the full operations at the new logistics center is planned for the second half of 2015.

By centralizing, KNV and KNO VA can consistently use the synergies within the company group and can create a unique selling proposition in the market with a networked, efficient logistics between book wholesale, media distribution and other services such as a central warehouse and central Goods Receiving.

The use of the Warehouse Management System inconsoWMS X offers the companies an increase in transparency throughout all inventories and operating processes.
