TGW service package for Coop

After the order for an extensive logistics centre at the Coop site in Schafisheim, Switzerland, materials handling solution provider TGW is happy about having closed a comprehensive service contract with the Swiss grocery giant. As soon as the system goes live, TGW's service technicians will keep an eye on the installation.
At the beginning of 2013, TGW celebrated the order intake of the extensive and complex logistics centre with four areas at grocery retailer Coop in Schafisheim, Switzerland. Almost exactly one year later, TGW Systems Integration confirms the order of a comprehensive service package for the materials handling systems at Coop.
Four areas for the Coop logistics centre
The four areas of the Coop logistics centre in Schafisheim comprise
- Storage and semi-automated picking of general goods including a 4-aisle high bay rack for pallets and several picking zones
- the "cooling machine" for fresh products with shuttle buffer and fully automated roller container loading
- the "freezer area" with a 4-aisle high bay rack, fully automated de-palletizing, shuttle buffer and fully automated roller container loading
- and an "empty packs centre" for the temporary storage of empty roller containers, empties sorting and the replenishment of all picking areas.
Already in spring 2013 - immediately after the contract for the Coop-Schafisheim project had been signed - TGW actively proposed an entire service concept for the systems at Coop and verified them in a number of workshops together with the customer. For the logistics centre at the Schafisheim site, Coop will use the multi-annual entire maintenance package including external equipment and 24/7 hotline in addition to other services provided by TGW. This includes a team of highly qualified technicians, who will care for the complex equipment for a shorter period and an option to prolong this offer for the customer.
