23.05.2014

Full WMS provider implements customs module at Mader as cloud-based ASP solution

CIM GmbH, full WMS provider from Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich, implement their logistics software PROLAG®World at the customs warehouse of logistics provider Johann Mader. Thanks to an integrated customs module, customs declarations can be made quickly and automatically over an ATLAS interface. The use of PROLAG®World is rented by Mader and the software is accessed through a web browser.

Sustained globalization continues to drive the demand for goods and services all over the world. PROLAG®World’s customs module provides a simple, integrated solution for dutiable shipments, as demonstrated at the customs warehouse of international logistics provider Johann Mader in Ansbach. Mader’s warehouse stores up to one million different circuit boards from Asia and picks them for production supply for a large automotive supplier. Thanks to the integrated customs module in the WMS, Mader receives an automatic ATLAS export declaration as well as all the relevant customs documents. What’s more, full traceability of their dutiable goods is guaranteed. Compliance with customs regulations is guaranteed and all shipment movements are seamlessly documented – from storage right through to customs clearance.

Customs cloud

Mader implements PROLAG®World as an ASP solution in the internet. The logistics provider rents the use of PROLAG®World and operates the software through a web browser.

Goods receipt – interface number 1

As soon as the trucks with the customs goods arrive at the warehouse in Ansbach, PROLAG®World transmits the MRN (movement reference number) to ATLAS over the interface. Using the unloading list, employees check that list and goods correspond. PROLAG®World then sends a verification message to ATLAS and transfers the goods in temporary storage to customs warehousing. PROLAG®World creates mixed pallets at the goods receipt area which are then clearly labelled and booked into the warehouse.

Goods issue – interface number 2

The retrieval process in PROLAG®World is triggered on the basis of kanban cards. Employees in the warehouse pick the requested circuit boards from the customs warehouse according to the FIFO principle. The customs declaration is registered automatically: The logistics software informs the customs service provider about the planned retrieval over the interface including the relevant information such as ATLAS registration number, storage location and article number. Within an hour, the circuit boards are registered at the relevant customs office and a confirmation is sent to Mader.
