17.02.2015

Jungheinrich unveiled a cornucopia of innovations and product refinements for 2015 at the LogiMAT exhibition in Stuttgart from February 10th to 12th. The Hamburg-based company’s tradeshow appearance was dominated by innovative intralogistics system solutions, including a horizontal order picker and new series 5 tow tractors with a towing capacity of up to nine tonnes.

Dr Lars Brzoska, Jungheinrich Board of Management member in charge of Sales, rated his company’s showing on over 700 square metres of display space »a complete success«, adding: »Our presentation of initial innovations from a total of two dozen to be unveiled this year set a new benchmark. As a leading provider of intralogistics solutions we were able to demonstrate our overall solutions competence to an audience of industry professionals in numerous high-calibre consultative and sales talks.«

BEST PRODUCT: »Award is proof of Jungheinrich’s system equipment competence«

An innovative IT solution from Jungheinrich was selected for an award at LogiMAT 2015. The Hamburg-based enterprise was honoured for its »Logistics Interface«, receiving a »BEST PRODUCT« award in the category of »Software, Communication, IT«. »This award is proof of Jungheinrich’s outstanding system equipment competence in the field of intralogistics,« stated Richard Brandstetter, Managing Director of Jungheinrich Logistiksysteme GmbH, adding that it set a benchmark for operations in the field. Jungheinrich showcased its complete range of software and IT hardware for warehousing applications at its booth in »Software Hall 7«. These offerings included the Jungheinrich Warehouse Management System (WMS), an in-house development.

New Lithium-Ion Battery: Milestone for Entire Field of Intralogistics

For the first time Jungheinrich presented its lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 110, 240 and 360 ampere-hours in combination with mass-produced trucks, including pedestrian controlled forklifts, platform trucks and order pickers. Developed within the group’s own »Energy and Drive Systems« division, the lithium-ion batteries can be charged to last for an entire shift in just 30 minutes. In the words of Dr Klaus-Dieter Rosenbach, member of the Jungheinrich Board of Management in charge of Engineering, this new development »represents a milestone in the further development and refinement of energy storage systems for the entire field of intralogistics!«

At the Stuttgart-based tradeshow Jungheinrich presented its entire range of industrial trucks and intralogistics solutions. Highlights included the new ECE 220/225 horizontal order picker and the company’s series 5 tow tractors with towing capacity of between seven and nine tonnes, comprising the type EZS 570, 580 and 590 tow tractors.

A further highlight at the Jungheinrich booth this year consisted of the EFG S40s electric counterbalanced stacker – the winner in the top category of the 2014 IFOY Awards. Further attractions included the ERC 215a auto pallet mover, the 5-series tow tractors, LRK lift racking and the EKX 410 narrow-aisle forklift with warehouse navigation. Trade visitors from across the globe were able to test the latter live on a dedicated driving course at the Jungheinrich booth. The Jungheinrich appearance in Hall 6 was rounded out by a presentation of the company’s entire service portfolio, including the ISM Online fleet management system and areas like financial services, rental and used equipment, the Jungheinrich Pro Shop and HR recruiting.
