viastore Continues on its International Growth Path

01.12.2016

Innovations in the field of Industry 4.0, SAP EWM and viadat

The intralogistics expert, viastore, remains on its road to success. The international corporate group headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany increased its turnover to 125 million Euros in 2016, compared to 120 million Euros the previous year. This was announced in late November by viastore CEO, Philipp Hahn-Woernle, at the company’s annual press conference, which was held for the first time in the company’s new corporate headquarters . The viastore order receipt remains at a very high level. In 2017, the company expects to increase its total revenue and order receipt by another ten percent, compared to 2016. »Intralogistics is still a growth market in a changeful economic environment«, Philipp Hahn-Woernle notes as he summarizes the economic situation of the industry. He points out, the basis for the growth of the company is the healthy market, plus viastore's innovative solutions, high intralogistics expertise, and extreme proximity to the customers.

viastore SOFTWARE GmbH, newly founded in 2015, has doubled its business this year. This is due to an increased number of SAP EWM projects, in which the automation competence of the SAP experts of viastore SOFTWARE are of particular importance, and the strong demand for viadat, the warehouse management software. »viadat is being used more and more frequently in manually operated warehouses, and the number of orders has also increased significantly on an international level«, Hahn-Woernle emphasizes. »In the field of automated logistics centers, 2016 looks promising for viadat to maintain the global number 1 position, as we have acquired several large-scale international customers who are converting their logistics centers to viadat.«

In 2016, viastore developed new solutions in the field of Industry 4.0. »Interconnection, automation, and process efficiency down to a lot size of 1 has always been a topic of intralogistics«, viastore COO Detlef Ganz explains. »We have intensified our focus on this topic in order to develop additional innovative solutions for our industrial customers, in which logistics and manufacturing are becoming increasingly integrated.« One such solution is equipping customers with VR (virtual reality) tools in order to design systems as close to reality as possible, ensuring customer requirements are incorporated immediately. Another example, is the viastore software solution which allows viastore experts to commission complex automated logistics centers virtually in order to increase safety, reduce risks, and in particular minimize commissioning times. This innovative solution earned viastore a position in the »100 Places for Industry 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg« competition this year. Moreover, viastore has developed tools which intensively monitor logistics systems in order to eliminate errors even before they occur. Dirk Viehofer, director of the Industry Solutions team at viastore presented examples of how such ideas have already become a reality providing end customers with shorter delivery times, reduced stocks, and safe processes, which form the basis for further growth.

A special highlight of 2016 was the introduction of the new user interface of the viadat standard WMS. »The »Easy to Use« philosophy is found throughout the entire software«, says Dr. Martin Krebs, Head of Development at viastore SOFTWARE. »It is easy to configure, can be operated intuitively by the warehouse worker, and the logistics manager can use clearly arranged dashboards to view those key figures needed to plan and control logistics«.

Patrick Eichstädt, COO of viastore SOFTWARE GmbH, delivered insight into the field of SAP innovations presenting the new generation of digital business suites that SAP S4/HANA provides. He concluded that processes are getting quicker, and the interface more user-friendly. This topic will be one of the highlights at »Intralogistik-Softwaretag«, which viastore will hold on January 25, 2017 at Mercedes-Benz-Arena in Stuttgart.
