Rossmann consolidates market leadership in Eastern Europe

Rossmann still holds its top position in the drugstore market in Eastern Europe. Poland is here the number one. This is further indicated by another extension of the logistics and distribution center in Lodz/Poland

The new project was planned by the logistics department of Rossmann and the logistics planner Miebach Consulting GmbH. A 9-aisle high-bay warehouse acts as a direct handling of the drugstore market-specific roller containers as dynamic buffer with integrated goods issue conveyor system for the collection of routes.

The supply of the high-bay warehouse with a link to goods receipt and commissioning is covered by an extensive pallet floor conveyor with 40 vehicles for a double roller containers handling each. A dynamic shuttle automated small-parts warehouse buffers the completely picked order containers with sequenced retrieval and following fully automated loading into the RC for final route planning in the high-bay warehouse-goods issue-buffer.

The general contractor Aberle GmbH from Leingarten received the order for the project. Aberle is the leading system integrator for highly complex intralogistics projects under the umbrella of Körber Logistics. Furthermore, its Process Management System (PMS) takes over control of the plant systems and a coordinated contract manufacture as well as the transparent visualization of material flows and plant utilization.

With this challenging project Rossmann consolidates its market leadership in Eastern Europe.
