What, Where, How Much: Krones AG Optimizes Internal Transport Processes with inconso’s Software Solution

03.01.2018

Machine and system manufacturer integrates inconsoS/TCS (Transport Control System)

With the implementation of an SAP based software application for internal transport processing, Krones AG is another step closer to establishing comprehensive stock and movement transparency. This is made possible by a newly developed software solution from the logistics software specialist inconso, the transport control system inconsoS/TCS. The software solution keeps tabs on all transport and goods movements – from goods receiving in the warehouse to individual production steps through to shipping. Thus Krones AG succeeds in integrating gapless tracking of all material and load carriers in all areas and locations. The listed German manufacturer of machines and systems for process, filling and packaging technologies has been relying on inconsoS/TCS at its headquarters in Neutraubling since 2016.

The inconso add-on developed in ABAP and fully integrated into SAP not only records single as well as multistep transports with forklifts or tugger trains, but also transports across halls using trucks. In Neutraubling, the stimuli transmitted to inconsoS/TCS are provided by SAP MM (Material Management), SAP LE-WM and the fully automated storage and retrieval system with a capacity of over 25,000 tray locations and over 7,000 processed order lines daily.

Krones AG has also realized other optimization measures: Since the official start of their own rail connection at the beginning of 2016, machine and system parts roll directly from the plant in Neutraubling up to the port in Hamburg, from where they are shipped. Krones now ships two thirds of goods to countries outside Europe via the Hamburg port. At the Hamburg hub and other selected sites, preparations are currently under way for the go-live with inconsoS/TCS.
