Topping-out ceremony for automated container warehouse - Eisele is gearing up for the digital future

The topping-out ceremony for the new automated mini-load system of Eisele Pneumatics GmbH & Co. KG recently took place in Waiblingen near Stuttgart, Germany.
Established in 1939, the international family-owned company is a provider of innovative connection solutions. With around 160 employees, it develops, manufactures and distributes high-quality all-metal connection components, including push-in connectors, quick-release connectors, and hose connections. Due to its successful international expansion – especially in the USA and in Asia – the medium-sized company has gained many new automotive customers, all of whom expect to be supplied reliably and on time. The new mini-load warehouse will ensure the rapid distribution of goods – even as business continues to grow. In addition, Eisele is gearing up for the ongoing digital transformation in logistics and production.
viastore supplies a flexible shuttle solution for this purpose, which offers storage space for 17,280 containers which can be extended to accommodate as many as 26,780 containers as required. The containers are transported by five viaflex³ type shuttles. »It is particularly important for us to optimize our business processes, from order receipt and production planning to manufacture and quality control, and finally warehousing and shipping,« explains Thomas Maier, Managing Director of Eisele. This is where viadat, viastore’s proprietary software for warehouse management and networked and automated material flows in logistics and industrial manufacturing, comes into play. The WMS offers an integrated solution for the entire supply chain and thus supports all demands placed on a modern and efficient intralogistics system. »We are striving for a paperless process, at the end of which is the connection to our new automated mini-load system. Our entire internal exchange of information will take place electronically once this system has been commissioned,« adds Maier.
Completion of the warehouse and other production and office buildings is scheduled for May 2018. The entire company will subsequently move to the new location, which offers sufficient available space for future growth.
