Textile discounter Takko winds up online business using WMS LogoS 3 Enterprise

31.01.2020

The online business is a constantly increasing market, which particularly holds true for the textile industry.

According to statista.de, fashion and accessories accounted for about one third of the online sales generated in Germany (https://de.statista.com/themen/247/e-commerce/). The ever-growing online demand also concerns textile discounter Takko Fashion which is based in Telgte, Germany. In the beginning of 2019, Takko Fashion responded to the increased logistical needs related to the e-commerce business, re-insourcing their distribution, which was formerly handled by an external service provider, to their logistics affiliate Takko Logistik. The central logistics site in Winsen was expanded to include an additional area where all processes are completely managed by LogoS 3 Enterprise, Gigaton’s warehouse management system.

Takko Fashion’s online business now handles on average roughly 3000 consignments per day (growing rapidly), which are shipped both directly via CEP services and via a Ship to Store concept through a Takko store to the final recipients. In order to handle such large numbers of consignments, 30 employees specifically work in the e-commerce division every day– on a logistic area of around 6000 square meters, covering different levels.

LogoS 3 Enterprise, the comprehensive WMS solution, controls the flows of goods from the goods entry including a separation on box level via bin location-optimized warehousing, replenishment, the goods issue via a two-tier MDE-based picking process, to the consignment handled through a Put Wall system. LogoS has been integrated into the existing process landscape and in particular a connection to the ERP in use and the online shop was established, just as the digitalized communication to connected CEP service providers using the integrated LogoS consignment system has been implemented.

The subproject »Omni-Channel« has been implemented as a pilot project in the context of a comprehensive project to be rolled out in different stages within ten months. Commissioning followed in January 2019.
