Future-proof warehouse for researching and innovative pharmaceutical company

06.10.2010

inconso AG implements SAP LES at DAIICHI SANKYO EUROPE GmbH

In Pfaffenhofen, the research pharmaceutical company DAIICHI SANKYO EUROPE GmbH operates an automatic, two aisle high bay warehouse for the supply and disposal for production and for distribution. In order to have the warehouse fit for further growth and new functional requirements, the existing warehouse management system was replaced with a solution based on the standard software SAP LES. inconso AG received the order for the development and implementation of the solution. It should ensure the operational reliability of the high bay warehouse in the long term and be flexible enough to deal with the current and future requirements of DAIICHI SANKYO.

The use of a central SAP LES in combination with the existing SAP ERP led to a substantial reduction in complexity and the number of required interfaces. From the perspective of the pharmaceutical manufacturer, it was significant advantage that this combination also reduces the time and effort for the validation of processes with the healthy authorities. The close orientation on the SAP standard should minimize the implementation risk and enable DAIICHI SANKYO to support and extend the applications implemented by inconso in the future with their own SAP experienced employees.
