RedPrairie donates On-Demand Warehouse Management solution to Don Frazier Supply Chain Training Center

RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, announced today that it has donated an implementation and one-year contract of its On-Demand Warehouse Management solution (WMS) to the Don Frazier Supply Chain Training Center at the Applied Technology Center in Rock Hill, S.C. Serving as a laboratory setting for the career and technical high school, the Don Frazier Center helps provide work-related skills and experiences in state-of-the-art warehouse management practice to students considering careers in supply chain management.

The Frazier Center was originally built in partnership between the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) and the Material Handling Education Foundation (MHEFI). It was dedicated in April of 2009.

“Students at the Center have learned standard distribution practices until now through the use of paper, pencils and clipboards,” says Allan Howie, Director of Continuing Education Programs at MHIA. “But by gaining experience with RedPrairie’s On-Demand WMS, those students will be able to learn first-hand how the most sophisticated organizations are managing their supply chains.”

Students at the institution learn those practices by managing a network that distributes weekend meals to underprivileged children across the local area. Most of the resources available to those students have been donated by MHIA’s partners, like RedPrairie.

“Our company recognizes that the strength of future supply chains relies in large part on the education we provide for students,” says Mike Mayoras, RedPrairie CEO. “We are proud to contribute to a continuing and lasting legacy of supply chain experts and managers.”
