LGI Logistics Group International GmbH selects RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management

27.01.2011

Comprehensive functionality and 3PL expertise praised

RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, announced today that LGI Logistics Group International GmbH, a leading German contract logistics provider, wholly owned by Willi Betz group of companies, has selected RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution to replace the company’s home-grown systems.

Since its founding in 1995, LGI has experienced annual growth of approximately twenty percent. To support future growth and boost efficiency, the company needed a solution to help maximise the utilisation of company resources, including manpower, space, and material handling equipment.

LGI organizes and performs contract logistics for companies in the automotive, electronics, industrial goods and healthcare sectors. In order to improve service levels and facilitate existing standard processes in its 35 warehouses across Europe LGI started a selection process for a standard WMS solution. The respected Fraunhofer Institute of Material Flow & Logistics assisted LGI in its search.

After a thorough selection process, LGI selected RedPrairie. “All discussions and presentations showed that RedPrairie understands the challenges of logistics service providers and that this know-how is built into their Warehouse Management solution,” said Eckhard Busch, Managing Director Operations, LGI. “Another strong selling point was the system’s look and feel and user friendliness, including graphical views for radio frequency devices. RedPrairie’s WMS will even make it possible to further support our guiding principle ‘Made in Quality’”.

LGI is expecting to have the system implemented in Herten by mid- 2011.

“We are proud to welcome LGI as our customer,” said Martin Hiscox, Managing Director and President International, RedPrairie. “The company ranks among the top 10 contract logistics providers in Germany and we look forward to helping LGI continue its growth.”
