JDA recognized in New Magic Quadrant for Supply Chain Planning System of Record, 2016 and Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems, 2016 for JDA Labs

JDA Software Group, Inc. today announced that it has once again been positioned as a Leader in the Gartner »Magic Quadrant for Supply Chain Planning System of Record (SCP SOR), 2016« and the Gartner »Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), 2016.« With the release of these two new reports, JDA is the only vendor recognized as a Leader in four Gartner supply chain technology Magic Quadrants, inclusive of the April 2015 »Magic Quadrant for Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Systems of Differentiation (SOD),« the March 2015 »Magic Quadrant for Transportation Management Systems (TMS),« as well as a Leader in the August 2015 »Magic Quadrant for Merchandise Assortment Management Applications (MAMA).«

The Gartner SCP SOR Magic Quadrant focuses on analyzing the market for SCP SORs that support the »integrate« maturity stage (stage three out of five stages) of demand and supply planning processes today and in the future. Gartner finds many companies are investing in this area to provide a strong foundational planning layer on which to subsequently build their more differentiating and innovating capabilities.

The overall WMS market breaks down into five types of vendors, three of which are covered in the Gartner WMS Magic Quadrant: application megasuite vendors, supply chain management (SCM) vendors and specialist WMS vendors.

Innovation is one of the criteria used to evaluate vendors’ Completeness of Vision in the Gartner WMS Magic Quadrant. Gartner analyst Dwight Klappich wrote, »Innovation is a critical differentiator, and it is important for vendors to demonstrate the ability to support innovation by staying close to the most creative solutions or complicated problems in the market to drive pioneering functionality.«

JDA Labs is a dedicated research and development group within JDA committed to delivering patentable innovations, best practices and new products to the market. Staffed by data scientists, user experience researchers and cutting edge software developers, this group uses response planning, computing and cloud, and machine learning and visualization techniques to deliver advanced, innovative solutions and supply chain segmentation to its customers. JDA Labs leverages Google Cloud Platform as a result of its strategic collaboration, to provide a uniquely scalable and flexible technology platform via the cloud to support JDA’s future application development and delivery.

Klappich also wrote, »In this year’s Magic Quadrant, one of the notable areas of differentiation between vendors is user experience, and given customer interest, this has received more consideration in the evaluation of offerings2.« JDA’s newly announced WMS capabilities build on its re-visioned user experience, including expanded persona-based user experiences.

JDA solutions offer best-in-class breadth and depth across demand and supply planning as well as its WMS, with its large customer base, geographical breadth and third-party implementation service options offered. Combined with JDA Labs, customers can leverage its foundation capabilities into WMS and SCP systems of innovation (SOI), expanding their supply chain planning maturity process into stage three or higher.

The SCP market is made up of a large array of planning solutions that range from supply chain design and modeling, through sales and operations planning (S&OP) and down to manufacturing scheduling and all points in between.
