The Ehrhardt + Partner Group (EPG) at LogiMAT 2019: Practical forum for cognitive logistics

22.11.2018

At LogiMAT, the Ehrhardt + Partner Group (EPG) will showcase the cognitive era of logistics and how companies can increase the efficiency and profitability of their logistics with the help of cognitive IT solutions (AI) and digitization in the »Smart Warehouse«. At Stand A71 in Hall 8, logistics experts will be presenting LFS.timesquare, EPG's smart Logistics Control Tower, for the first time at an international trade fair.

Various IT systems for different points on the supply chain will also be on display, from logistics analytics through live cockpit data to predictive resource management and order forecasting with AI components.

Smart data, analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) – EPG will bring these buzzwords to life at its practical forum on 170 m² floorspace, presenting numerous innovative solutions for logistics. Live presentations by the group with a high degree of practical relevant will illustrate what smart logistics management needs to look like now and in the future. The key to digitization in this case is the LFS Logistics Software Suite. The system delivers smart networking across the entire supply chain, as well as control of all the processes and technologies that are used. At LogiMAT, EPG will present LFS.timesquare, a smart Logistics Control Tower that can integrate all logistics data from the past (BI), present (Control) and future (Predictive). Users can make decisions for future logistics processes based on this information. For example, you can plan and optimize bin assignment in the warehouse in advance with market basket analyses and with route and picking routes. LFS.timesquare clearly shows that control desk systems are increasingly developing into forward-thinking systems that learn from past experience and support workers with proactive suggestions. EPG is already integrating artificial intelligence (AI) components into LFS.timesquare. Smart order forecasting is one example. Smart forecasting uses past logistics data and external data (e.g. weather forecasts) to make accurate forecasts for future orders. Such forecasting is possible thanks to the close technical integration of LFS.timesquare with IBM's Watson AI software.

Guided tour of the exhibition stand

At LogiMAT, EPG offers guided tours of the exhibition stand across the different sections with solutions and innovations in the field of intralogistics. These include LFS.dock for intelligent dock management, which provides accurate planning, control and optimization of incoming and outgoing freight terminal traffic. EPG will also have a resource management module on display, enhanced by an AI component. Users can use it to visualize and plan all resource availabilities dynamically and in real time on the basis of the current order volume, the stored shift plans, employee qualifications and the available employees. The innovation here is that external influences are also taken into account in resource planning. Further highlights at the EPG stand will include the latest developments in the field of mobile solutions. As a comprehensive solutions provider, EPG will be presenting innovative approaches to simplify and optimize logistics processes in warehouses using augmented reality applications.
