KNAPP wins Material Handling Industry Innovation Award for Best IT Innovation

23.04.2019

KNAPP, a leading technological intralogistics company, has won the award for best IT innovation from the Material Handling Industry (MHI), which names winners each year in three categories. The prize went to redPILOT, a new cloud software solution for optimizing warehouse logistics. The awards ceremony took place on April 10 at the ProMAT trade fair in Chicago.

redPILOT helps the warehouse operating company to use available resources more intelligently. Just like a satellite navigation system, redPILOT calculates how to yield optimum returns, taking all resources into consideration, such as systems, personnel, energy, space, material, etc., in a context of constantly changing influencing factors, including order structure, delivery dates and store optimizations. All experience gained is used for machine learning, forming the basis for operations scheduling and online optimization of bottlenecks. KNAPP’s logistics software KiSoft ensures excellent system integration.

Siegfried Zwing, Managing Director of redPILOT GmbH, presented the solution to an independent jury made up of five members and eventually proudly accepted the award on behalf of the KNAPP group. »This prize is a sign of the high regard for our new product on the American market. Since receiving the award we have already received countless inquiries and we will be able to use this as a starting point for our growth strategy. The award proves that Styrian innovation is impressing companies around the world.«

Based in Dobl, Austria, redPILOT GmbH is a start-up company in the KNAPP group. Its area of expertise is in developing software solutions to permanently optimize operations in logistics applications. The aim is to make logistics systems as ecological, social and economic as possible every single hour they are operational. German supermarket chain EDEKA already has redPILOT solutions at seven of its sites. Within a short space of time, customers in diverse sectors have commissioned redPILOT to be integrated at 47 logistics sites worldwide.
