The Publisher C.C. Buchner upgrades its Logistics System

C.C. Buchner, a German publishing house specialised in school text books, ample its picking options at the main warehouse and introduces a new replenishment strategy.
The change was already integrated in the roadmap for process redesign suggested by Dr. Thomas + Partner in 2006.
The first step of the roadmap was to introduce the warehouse management system TWS. The current 2nd step sets out to increase the flexibility for order throughout and harmonise the IT. The goal is to even the load during high season and to create additional logistics capacity for further growth.
Next to the optimisation of picking tours, the direct picking from the High-bay store is implemented as process version.
