Levin Furniture selects RedPrairie WMS

10.09.2008

Leading furniture retailer will use Warehouse Management System (WMS) to increase productivity and improve customer satisfaction with faster order processing

RedPrairie Corporation, a world leading consumer driven optimization company, announced today that Levin Furniture is implementing RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) at its distribution center in Smithton, Pa. Levin, a leading furniture retailer based in Pennsylvania, chose RedPrairie to gain distribution efficiencies through faster and more accurate order fulfillment and improved productivity.

Levin Furniture chose RedPrairie to replace an outdated legacy warehouse solution and to gain visibility into merchandise across Levin’s internal supply chain. The new RedPrairie solution will provide system-directed tasks to improve picking and putaway accuracy and employee productivity. The solution will also enable Levin to benchmark results for warehouse workers to further optimize efficiency.

Levin Furniture will gain several new features important to their industry with the warehouse management solution (WMS), including task interleaving, wave picking, and aisle locking. The RedPrairie WMS will integrate with Levin’s existing Escalate system.

Ward Dingmann, VP of Operations for Levin Furniture, says, “The RedPrairie WMS was the logical choice for us. They have a proven track record in the furniture industry, and the WMS has the features we need to automate functions and tasks to be more efficient with our warehouse operations. This will prepare us to control current costs and support our expansion in the future.”
