Manhattan Associates Named To Food Logistics 100


Global supply chain optimization provider Manhattan Associates, was named to the annual Food Logistics 100, a listing of technology solution providers that offer products and services that specifically focus on the unique needs of the Food Industry.

The magazine's editorial staff selected the FL100 based on the proven track record and expertise of the nominees in providing food companies with the technology and service to help them meet their business objectives.

"The rising cost of food and fuel has challenged food distributors and retailers to find solutions that reduce costs in order to manage inventory, reduce waste and deliver fresh products with varying shelf lives to stores while keeping prices down for customers," said Jeff Mitchell, executive vice president, Americas operations, Manhattan Associates. "Our recognition in the Food Logistics 100 is a confirmation that Manhattan solutions are helping food companies work intelligently and effectively in these challenging economic times."

Papa John's is using solutions from Manhattan to centralize its inventory, warehousing and transportation planning.

"The more commodity costs go up, the more important our supply chain becomes—in the last twelve months, we have been able to reduce inventory by 17% and decrease the amount of warehouse space needed by 33%."
