PSIglobal management system analyses the entire logistics network

In the course of optimizing the flow of goods and distribution, the PSI subsidiary PSI Logistics GmbH has been awarded by the Hamburg trading house Gebr. Heinemann KG with diverse analyses for freight cost optimization.

Heinemann currently supplies a number of Travel Value & Duty Free Shops from its main warehouse in Hamburg Allermöhe. To improve the organization of the flow of goods for quicker availability of the goods in both the main warehouse as well as at the customers, the complete logistics network is being analyzed, whereby the unique circumstances at Heinemann will be taken into consideration. The optimization process considers both the flow of goods in the distribution as well as in the procurement.

The Gebr. Heinemann KG was founded in 1879 as a ship supplier. Today, the company is a modern, Hanseatic trading house that provides the international travel market with professional solutions. In the field of retail more than 150,000 customers are served by about 5,000 employees in 230 Travel Value & Duty Free, Concept and License Shops at 49 international airports everyday. In the field of distribution Gebr. Heinemann supplies 1,000 customers in 72 countries, In 2008 Gebr. Heinemann KG had sales of 1.9 billion euros worldwide.

PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group.
