RedPrairie enhances Transportation Management

12.05.2010

2010.1 release allows for consolidated LTL delivery appointment

RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity solutions provider, has enhanced its Transportation Management solution by adding appointment sharing capabilities to the system’s functionality. Among many key enhancements, the software’s 2010.1 release enables carriers to schedule a single appointment that covers multiple shipments. The functionality supports a receiving location’s need to manage the delivering trailer as a single unit, scheduling a single dock to receive multiple shipments.

“Traditionally, a carrier delivering a trailer with several shipments to the same drop-off point had to schedule a separate appointment for each shipment,” says Mona McFadden, RedPrairie Product Manager for Transportation Products. “With RedPrairie’s 2010.1 Transportation Management release, less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers can now schedule a single appointment for each trailer, covering all shipments in the trailer. This capability streamlines the receiving process and makes it much easier to coordinate dock resources.”

As a whole, the enhanced release enables a greater degree of receiving efficiency and accuracy. In addition, RedPrairie’s 2010.1 release features a broader set of functionality to help improve transportation productivity from planning to execution and freight settlement.

Potential users can see the new enhancements to RedPrairie’s Transportation Management solution by scheduling a demo at the company’s annual user conference, RedShift:2010, May 10-13 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Orlando in Orlando, Fl.
