Lenze extends logistics centre with TGW

19.10.2011

TGW Systems Integration expands the logistics centre of Lenze with a new assembly and logistics centre at their site in Asten, Austria.

Lenze’s double-digit growth rates previous to the economic crisis should be achieved again. The company’s order situation leads to doubling the capacities with the building of the new logistics centre in Asten. The new Lenze logistics centre is the third of its kind in Europe and helps improving the proximity to Lenze’s customers. Starting in autumn 2012, special assembly and application processes, which have been outsourced to Germany and France, can be done in Asten.

Already in 2001, TGW (former Ecolog) was successful as a general contractor for logistics projects for Lenze in Asten, Austria and Ruitz, France. Ten years later, the Asten site is expanded by an assembly and logistics centre.

The project includes a two-crane automated mini-load storage and a three-crane high bay storage solution with 20 meters of height. Due to fire safety reasons an oxygen-reduction (CA = controlled atmosphere) will be installed in the warehouse. The tote conveyer technology, as well as the pallet conveyor system will be furnished with four pick&pack-zones each, with a connection to paint finish. CI_LOG will be installed as warehouse software, which is going to control all processes in the installation. As control technology the TGW-Commander will be employed; all drives and controllers will be provided by Lenze itself.
