Team warehouse logistics invites participants to Fraunhofer IML in Dortmund

07.10.2014

The annual participant meeting of warehouse logistics will take place this year under the slogan “Go networked into the future with warehouse logistics”. On 30 October 2014, the participants of the world’s largest database for warehouse management systems will meet at Fraunhofer IML in Dortmund.

The warehouse logistics team has been moving the successful online platform toward the future since it was founded 14 years ago. Whether professional or private, from a functional or technical point of view, innovative or cooperative – the slogan “Networked into the future” is always a part of present day.

For the first time a guideline for the topic of WMS has also been created so that the participants who attend the meeting at the end of October 2014 will learn how they can gain transparency early on in their projects. This guideline is based on the joint work of ca. 90 participants and was compiled over the course of several VDI technical meetings.

In view of the positive feedback that was received about the World Café from previous meetings, participants will once again be given the opportunity to discuss ideas with each other. “Networking is very important for our customers so that is why we are once again holding the World Café where participants can discuss topics that interest them. The result is that trends and developments in the WMS market are analysed and new and exciting ideas are generated because each guest is an expert” enthuses Detlef Spee, head of the Department of Intralogistics and IT planning, who is already looking forward to the event.

Exciting topics will be discussed in the World Café under the slogan of “Networking”: one of those topics will be Logistics 4.0 which is based on the fundamental idea that logistic objects and systems are networked.

Guests will also have plenty of chances to talk to other participants as well as members of Team warehouse while eating lunch or enjoying a coffee and cake break later in the day: providing many opportunities to make new contacts, share opinions, and discuss the latest trends.

Time and time again the event has proven to be a win-win situation for all participants. Dr. Jochen Fuhrmann of AEB GmbH praised the “good mixture of the sharing of experiences and new trends so that not only were representatives able to scrutinize their own company strategies but they also got to enrich their visions of the future.” Horst Reichert of S&P Computersysteme GmbH stated that in his view the “warehouse logistics community” and the event have “almost become a surrogate manufacturer association for WMS.”

The participant meeting takes place on Thursday, 30 October 2014 from 09:00 to 15:00 in the conference hall of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Dortmund.

The event is free for participants of the WMS Database.

If you are interested in participating in the WMS Database of Fraunhofer IML as a WMS vendor, Team warehouse logistics would be happy to talk to you with no obligation on your part.
