The anniversary participants meeting of warehouse logistics will take place this year under the slogan »15 years warehouse logistics - Shaping. Future. Together.« on 22 October 2015, bringing together participants of the world’s largest database for warehouse management systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Dortmund.
In fifteen years, Team warehouse logistics of Fraunhofer IML has continued to move the successful online platform in the direction of the future and is looking forward to the anniversary event which has a special highlight this year: In addition to the classic participants meeting on Thursday, 22 October 2015 there will also be an event the evening before on Wednesday, 21 October 2015 at Restaurant Storckshof in Dortmund to celebrate the 15 year anniversary in a relaxed atmosphere with food and drink. The anniversary event provides participants with the chance to take part in discussions and presentations on current logistic topics. Together we will get a glimpse into the fifteen year history of the WMS Database.
After receiving positive feedback from past meetings, participants will again be given the opportunity for discussions and sharing ideas in the World Café. One concept that emerged from the World Café was the Project Guide for the Successful Implementation of a Warehouse Management System (WMS), which was published in 2014. This WMS Project Guide was first discussed as part of the »Go Live Strategy« topic at the 2012 World Café and developed jointly one year later.
»Jointly shaping the future of our platform is very important for our customers. That is why we are holding the World Café again this year, where participants can share their views on interesting topics. Since each guest is an expert this is where trends and developments in the WMS market are discussed and exciting ideas are developed,« Detlef Spee, head of the Department of Intralogistics and IT Planning, is looking forward to the event.
»The participants meeting allows us to take home new ideas and technologies. The direct discussions with other participants at the World Café complements this perfectly,« remarked Dr. Andreas Dürholt, Managing Director of Bitergo GmbH. Thomas Preller from Dematic GmbH also praised the »interesting and innovative topics that come up in the discussions and the chance to do some networking.« And Dietmar Haveloh from active logistics AG added: »The good mix of workshop and formal talks has won me over.«
The participants meeting takes place on Thursday, 22 October 2015 from 9:00 to 16:00 in the conference hall of Fraunhofer IML in Dortmund. The event the evening before takes places on Wednesday, 21 October 2015 beginning at 18:30 at Restaurant Storckshof in Dortmund. A shuttle service has been arranged for the evening event.
