inconso Rolls Out SAP LE-WM Template for Greiner Bio-One’s New High Bay Warehouse in Frickenhausen

20.07.2017

Long-term, successful collaboration of inconso and Greiner Bio-One continues with new SAP project

Greiner Bio-One (GBO) GmbH, specialized in the development, production and distribution of high quality laboratory products made from plastic, is now creating additional logistics and production-related capacities by building a new high bay warehouse (HBW) in Frickenhausen, Germany. Approximately starting April 2018, GBO will process shipments as well as production supply in the warehouse complex equipped with the latest SAP system components. Therefore, the company continues its long collaboration with the logistics software specialist inconso, which was tasked with the expansion of the SAP Logistics Execution System and Material Flow System.

The current project follows up the implementation of the warehouse management system SAP LE-WM completed in 2011 at the company’s headquarters in Kremsmünster (Upper Austria). This marks the first time an SAP based material flow system was installed that directly connects the subordinate process control. In the scope of another re-engineering and retrofit project around the turn of the year 2015/2016, an over twenty-year-old, automatic high bay warehouse was integrated in Kremsmünster as well.

The new requirements at the site in Frickenhausen include modifications and extensions for the existing SAP LE-WM template. To ensure the seamless integration of the new HBW into the existing SAP processes, the processes are emulated using an innovative emulation system. Thus, the new core of the logistics center can already be integrated into the existing process structure in the planning and test phase.

Aberle GmbH, a company of Körber Logistics Systems and sister company of inconso, was also assigned to help build the new automated high bay warehouse.
