Ingram Book Group Sustains Competitive Advantage with Manhattan Associates' Integrated Logistics Solutions™

Company Boosts Productivity by 32%

ATLANTA - August 24, 2005 - Manhattan Associates®, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANH), the global leader in providing supply chain execution and optimization solutions, announced that Ingram Book Group Inc., the world's largest wholesale distributor of book products, has experienced sustained ROI after implementing components of Manhattan Associates' Integrated Logistics Solutions™ in its four distribution centers (DCs). Ingram deployed Manhattan Associates' Warehouse Management and Performance Management solutions and the Audit Payment and Claims component of its Transportation Management solution. With these solutions, Ingram is filling orders to booksellers more quickly and helping publishers reach a wider, increasingly diverse customer base more efficiently. Ingram is better utilizing the space in its DCs, optimizing its transportation network and consistently monitoring and evaluating performance.

"The project exceeded all ROI expectations," said John Secrest, senior vice president, logistics, at Ingram. "All departments have achieved significant improvements in productivity, with picking productivity increasing more than 32%. Manhattan Associates' team spent the necessary time to understand our business. Because of the time they invested, we were able to implement without service interruption to our customers. From Manhattan Associates' sales team to its implementation team, we have worked with quality associates who are committed to our successes, and we will continue to partner with Manhattan Associates to optimize our distribution environment."

From its facilities, Ingram Book ships to retailers as well as directly to consumers on behalf of online book sellers. Manhattan Associates' Warehouse Management solution supports Ingram's large volumes and manages its entire DC operations. Audit Payment and Claims automates freight invoice payment and reconciliation by internalizing payment processes, auditing carrier invoices in detail and generating carrier claims. With this tool, Ingram has eliminated the manual review and assessment of each bill, increasing speed and accuracy in freight invoice processing. Performance Management, an automated business intelligence tool, draws data from the other solutions and provides real-time graphical reports for effective business analysis at the management level.

"Providing the best customer service is the foundation of our success, and we've maintained our reputation by delivering innovative and cost-effective distribution services for publishers and booksellers," added Dan Laidlaw, chief information officer at Ingram. "In addition to improving our supply chain operations and overall bottom line, Manhattan Associates' Integrated Logistics Solutions increases our ability to make quick and informed decisions.

"With its long history of success and growth, Ingram Book is a leader in its industry," said Jeff Mitchell, Manhattan Associates' executive vice president, Americas. "It is our goal to help customers address existing and emerging needs as well as industry-specific challenges by offering high-quality logistics solutions that have compelling ROI both now and in the future."

Headquartered in LaVergne, Tennessee, Ingram implemented Manhattan Associates' solutions at its distribution centers in Tennessee, Oregon, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
