The new validation round starts with the updated questionnaire version 2020

The annual validation of the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) listed on warehouse-logistics.com ensures the high quality of the information stored in the »WMS database«. The »Team warehouse logistics« of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) enables WMS customers to make a precise system selection according to individual criteria and detailed system comparisons based on continuously validated manufacturer specifications.
In 2020, the »Team warehouse logistics« once again revised the validation questionnaire, taking into account current market developments and trends. Thus, the »WMS database« remains up to date in its function as a logistics platform for WMS providers and WMS customers.
The annual validation of the systems is based on the completion of a questionnaire comprising round 3,700 aspects; almost 800 of these aspects were revised for the new 2020 version. This year's validation round focused on the holistic consideration of the questionnaire. In addition to potentially redundant aspects and new market developments, clarity and form of presentation as well as translations were examined thoroughly. Comments from the previous validation round were included in the form of new aspects. Thus, numerous categories were revised with regard to both content and presentation including, for example, »Product Specifications« and »Double / Multiple-Depth Storage«. Besides, each process-related chapter now contains a question about the number of projects already implemented with the respective functionality. As a novelty, the annual WMS participants' meeting at the IML is now also addressed in this year's questionnaire. WMS providers will have the opportunity to actively influence the topics of the lectures and discussions. Overall, the scope of the questionnaire in the 2020 version has been reduced by about five percent compared to the previous year's version.
In the course of the update, questions on current and future developments and trends were also revised and evaluated in the »WMS MARKET REPORT COMPACT«. It will be published at the end of the current year and, like its predecessor version, it will be available for you as a free whitepaper to download at www.warehouse-logistics.com.
