inconso Add-Ons make transports for Gardena and other more efficient

Garden equipment, tools and machines: The demand from hobby and professional gardeners for Gardena products is especially high in the spring and autumn. Hortus GmbH, founded two years ago and the logistics subsidiary of the Gardena group, ensures that the supply of all materials from the distribution center in Ulm, Germany arrive on-time and efficiently at the customers and carries out comprehensive logis-tics services also for third parties outside the group. In order to increase the Um die productivity of the logistics, to have better instruments for controlling and to reduce the costs, hortus implemented a Transport Management System under SAP. in-conso AG was given the given the order for the implementation and customizing.

On the way to a new IT landscape, Gardena and hortus relied on inconso’s support in workshops and reference visits. The Transport Management System now used is based on the functionalities of the SAP module LES-TRA and is completely inte-grated in the SAP system of Gardena.

In order to close functional gaps in the standard processes and to optimize the pro-ject implementation, inconso used SAP based transport Add-Ons in the project. These SAP Add-Ons are a unique offering from inconso in the transport market.

In the project, synergies in the transport processing were to be utilized especially in the system supported transport planning and execution. Among others, functional-ities for load space optimization and transport optimization based on costs were integrated. The basis for optimization was the build-up of a meaningful reporting for the transport and freight cost processes as well as the implementation of an inte-grated freight cost invoicing. Already today, the plan considers conceptually the ability to add additional logistic processes on the new platform in the future.
