Essen – a major hypermarket chain in the Republic of Tatarstan, comprised of 24 stores, which are located across the entire region. Solvo.WMS was recommended by the audit company “Fort Dialogue,” as an optimal solution – one that would be a perfect fit for Essen’s business processes.

The facility for automation was a new warehouse with an area of 10,000 m2, which maintains an inventory balance of 1000 - 1500 SKU. The warehouse is divided into zones for storing food and nonfood products, and is equipped with a racking system, refrigerators as well as 10 docks for receiving and shipping.

The system implementation project was carried out by specialists from SOLVO throughout the course of five weeks. The team seamlessly implemented the Solvo.WMS system without any technological process disruptions, which may have delayed shipments to the retail chain. In the second stage of implementation, the system was configured according to client preference while personnel underwent testing for not only their knowledge of the WMS system but also warehouse operations as a whole.

The system makes it possible to tackle issues common to distribution centers: expiration date control during receiving and picking, distribution of goods at the warehouse based on ABC-analysis, order picking with consideration of weight parameters and many others.

All client preferences were considered when customizing the system and a series of add-ons were introduced during the implementation stage, which further optimized warehouse operations. The addition of the topology editor module Solvo.WTM enables the user to view graphical information regarding warehouse topology, occupancy and the location of stored goods. When on-line, the module displays the location of various objects (loads, equipment, personnel) on the warehouse layout.

The Reports module is used to generate reports about any warehouse worker for a specific time period. For the time being, manual vehicle loading planning was established based on the Solvo.WMS system. Essen’s logistics specialists will establish routes and order contents, which are to be loaded onto vehicles.
