Manhattan Associates plant Übernahme von ReturnCentral

Manhattan Associates hat eine Vereinbarung über den Kauf von Geschäftsteilen des amerikanischen Software-Spezialisten ReturnCentral unterzeichnet. Ziel: die Erweiterung der SCE-Lösungen um umfassende Funktionen für die Retourenlogistik

ATLANTA / DÜSSELDORF – Manhattan Associates stärkt seine Position als führender Anbieter von Supply Chain Execution-Lösungen: Das Unternehmen aus Atlanta (USA / Deutschland-Sitz: Düsseldorf) hat eine Vereinbarung über den Kauf von Geschäftsteilen des amerikanischen Software-Spezialisten ReturnCentral Inc. unterzeichnet. Mit der Akquisition, die bis zum Quartalsende stattfinden soll, erweitert Manhattan Associates seine Software-Lösungen um umfassende Funktionalitäten für die Retourenlogistik.

ReturnCentral (Hauptsitz: Pittsburgh) bietet Software für die Steuerung der Retourenlogistik entlang der gesamten Supply Chain. Das Angebot umfasst Anwendungen für die automatische Abwicklung von Retouren, Produktrückgaben und Weiterverfügungen sowie für die komplette Bearbeitung und Verfolgung der Rücksendungen. Mit der Akquisition wird Manhattan Associates die Produkte von ReturnCentral in die eigenen Anwendungen für das Handelspartnermanagement und die Echtzeit-Kooperation zwischen Unternehmen integrieren – ergänzend zu den bestehenden Retouren-Lösungen, die bereits in das Warehousemanagement-System von Manhattan Associates eingebettet sind. Zu den neu gewonnenen Funktionalitäten zählen unter anderem:

  • die Berücksichtigung vereinbarter Rücksendemodalitäten bei der Abwicklung von Retouren
  • das verbesserte Routing bei der Rückführung und Weiterleitung der Waren durch Einbezug von Qualitätskriterien und Volumenangaben
  • die Abstimmung von Retourendokumenten auf kundenspezifische Anforderungen (automatisch oder manuell) und die vereinfachte Produktion von Lieferscheinen
  • die hohe Benutzerfreundlichkeit durch „Drag-and-Drop“-Funktion

Für Richard Haddrill, President & CEO von Manhattan Associates, stellt die effektive Organisation der Retourenlogistik einen wichtigen Baustein für die kostensparende Steuerung der Supply Chain dar. „Die Retourenlogistik ist für viele Unternehmen ein wesentlicher Kostenfaktor“, so Haddrill. „Durch die Akquisition helfen wir unseren Kunden, die Optimierung der Abläufe in der Retourenlogistik weiter voranzutreiben und Kosten zu sparen.“
