OBETA Sets the Strategic Course for the Digital Future Together with FIS

Electronic wholesaler implements the FIS/wws® industrial solution for technical wholesale for more than 700 SAP work centers at 61 locations.

Oskar Böttcher GmbH & Co. KG (OBETA) relies on the SAP expertise of FIS GmbH for the restructuring of its ERP landscape. Starting mid-2016, the well-established electronic wholesaler with headquarters in Berlin will implement the new SAP ERP S/4HANA Enterprise Management system in connection with the FIS/wws® industry template during a multilevel rollout at 61 locations. The further development for technical wholesale based on SAP S/4HANA ideally supports the specific requirements of the electrical industry and easily and efficiently optimizes core processes.

OBETA has impressively proven its success for more than 100 years, which is owed to technical expertise, distinct customer service and, above all, to its lived innovation culture. Since its foundation in 1901, the Berlin-based company has been representing values such as service orientation and reliability by looking ahead and by always finding new ways to offer an even better service. In order to reliably provide the customer with additional values and goods, a clear vision and the right partners are required. With FIS, OBETA has a partner at its side sharing the same values and providing proven industry and solution know-how in technical wholesale.

Now, OBETA replaces its previous retailing system - individually developed by a third-party provider - by SAP S/4HANA and FIS/wws®. As an SAP one-stop provider, FIS implements further self-developed SAP optimizations closely interconnected with FIS/wws®, such as FIS/mpm®, for efficient product and price data management or FIS/edc® for automated document reading and processing.

Dynamic market developments, generation change in the customer environment, technology trends such as Big Data and further essential customer and product requirements challenge the technical wholesale to continuously develop innovations. By implementing the new solution, OBETA comprehensively meets these requirements and, as a consequence, can expand its position in this industry sector in the future and continue the growth story.

It is the explicit aim to implement the new ERP software as an integrated intercompany system across the OBETA subsidiaries. This ensures the consistent support of corporate processes and their respective scaling in the future. After the planned project completion in 2018, significantly more than 700 users will work with the FIS solution.
