Customers and requirements: With some 200 subsidiaries, NISSIN Corporation is one of the leading international transport and logistic enterprises from Japan. The corporation manages its entire continental operations from its European subsidiary NISSIN Transport GmbH in Neuss. To co-ordinate processes in the German, French and Spanish subsidiaries from the center of operations in Neuss, the enterprise had been looking for a high performance multinational software solution with equally first class project management.

International software solution: After considerable research and meetings with several software vendors, NISSIN chose the LFS 400 Warehouse Management System developed by Ehrhardt + Partner. This choice of solution for the corporation was prompted, among other factors, by the multilingual and multi-client features, the continuous development of the software as well as by the central administration of the modular system.

Convincing results: The software manages four warehouses in three languages: Linked to the central computer in Neuss are three additional European locations, each with their own processes and language versions, all combined into one software installation. Additionally, the software offers transparency and numerous advantages for the warehouses linked to it. Fully automatic consignment consolidation and the automatic assigning of freight services cut transport costs considerably. LFS also assures faster order processing times thanks to its crossconsignment picking function. Another attribute of the software is the high degree of parameterisation, i.e. the parameter settings of one software installation can be set independently in the various locations and within the individual warehouses. For example NISSIN stores Sharp high-quality electronics at some locations. These facilities are set up to record the serial numbers of each item to guarantee a 100% efficient tracing of the goods.

Once the Special Requirements Document had been presented, four continental European Nissin warehouses were connected to LFS 400 within nine months. Additional locations with different languages can be linked at any time without additional programming.
