Task description
Adidas is the second largest sports textiles & garments producer worldwide. The distribution centre in Uffenheim, Germany, ships about four million items per month.
The order profile of Adidas is characterised by sports events, seasonal fluctuations and fashion trends, resulting in distinctive fast and slow movers. Furthermore, the company has very dynamic business processes due to its size. This means:
- 50,000 to 80,000 delivery notes per month
- 16 countries
- > 10,000 customers with > 15,000 delivery addresses
In addition to this business profiles and articles are heterogeneous.
DR. THOMAS + PARTNER designed the logistical activities for the distribution centre Uffenheim and implemented the warehouse management system including material flow control and control unit. The following was put into operation:
