Task description
Production Logistic and Control System
EUROKERN Foundry Technology GmbH located in Baddeckenstedt, south of Hannover / Germany produces Casting Cores in different manufacturing methods and different sizes and weights. Customers of EUROKERN are European Manufactures of the automotive industry.
Main production issues are multi component Casting Core configurations for Truck and Ship engines. The final casting core is assembled from many sub-cores. The sub-cores are stored in an intermediate production storage when coming from the manufacturing machines.
Autarkic CLICK WMS and Production-Control System
The complete solution was delivered by GS-automation including RF equipment for Forklift- and Handheld terminals. The user dialogues are easy to use by warehouse personal and ergonomically structured. Due to WEB Browser technology they are Intra- and Internet usable.
At EUROKERN all Article-Master-Records, Part lists, Incoming goods handling and Production Orders are managed by CLICK Reply WMS without any HOST connection.
Material and pallet identification is done by Barcode labels, which are printed by CLICK in advance.
Input to the production storage is done by scanning the Barcode label of a pallet via Forklift terminal. CLICK allocates a slot, generates a Transport Order and shows it to the forklift driver on the terminal. The driver does the physical storage and verifies the slot address by CHECK-DIGIT.
Output from production storage is initialized by Production Orders which refer to Part lists. Output is strictly done IN SEQUENCE. Destination for outgoing pallets always is a Final Assembly Line.
A time-window FIFO strategy is applied for generating Output-Transport-Orders.
The Transport Order is shown to the forklift driver on his RF Terminal. The driver scans the Barcode label attached to the pallet for verification and does the physical output.
Pallets are placed on a conveyor and automatically transported to the relevant mounting place of the assembly line.
Partial pallets are consolidated and restored from assembly line to production storage,
All movements are stored in the ORACLE database and can be traced any time by CLICK Monitoring.
The system is operable used since 2006.
