Founded in 1952, today KNAPP employs more than 2,300 people and is represented worldwide by 18 local offices and 14 representatives. The German local office is located in Heusenstamm bei Frankfurt.

KNAPP is the "Solution Provider", and delivers complete solutions. The portfolio begins with conceptualization and development, includes realization as general contractor, and extends through universal after-care once the project is accepted. With KiSoft (KNAPP integrated software), KNAPP offers a modular and scalable software package.

KiSoft WMS (Warehouse Management System)

KiSoft WMS is the leading standard system both for conventional paperless systems and for automated warehouses, with best practice processes in the warehouse, more than 1,700 standard features and short implementation times.

From IT automation (RF terminals, Pick-by-Voice or Pick-by-Vision) to fully-automatic processes, the scalable KiSoft WMS centrally controls all warehouse processes. From goods-in to goods-out all the various demands such as lot tracking, guaranteed cold chain, serial number tracking, or value added services are covered. Picking is optimized, for example, through applications such as the packing arrangement calculation, which optimizes the packing density and ensures a stable packing unit. Naturally, there is also flexible connection to any kind of ERP system.

The continuous monitoring of all processes ensures proactive optimization and guarantees added value in comparison to conventional warehouse management systems.

KiSoft WCS (Warehouse Control System)

The material flow control system coordinates controls and regulates all the automatic material flow processes in real time. Handling asymmetric workloads is just as much a part of the standard KiSoft WCS scope of functions as is time and distance optimization for complex material flows over the various components.

Along with integration of KNAPP’s own warehouse system such as the OSR Shuttle (goods-to-person picking system), SDA (fully automatic picking system), MPS (semi-automatic picking system) or Sorter, a standardized interface is available for flexible connection to third-party components.

KiSoft MIS (Management Information System)

The continuous collection of data and background calculations, evaluation and prognosis allow KiSoft MIS to provide information regarding status and progression of the warehouse processes at any time. On the one side, management can monitor performance in the warehouse online and quickly react to deviations; on the other side, the key performance indicators (KPI) ascertained facilitate a long-term evaluation of the core logistical processes. For customers with third-party logistics, KiSoft MIS provides a web portal which permits access to targeted index numbers from outside the warehouse.

KiSoft WFM (Workforce Management System)

Modelling and real-time evaluation of the warehouse processes using REFA target times using the KiSoft WFM guarantee the objective, performance-related evaluation of the employee (bonus system) and a sustainable increase in warehouse performance. The KiSoft WFM simulation model makes it possible to test changes in process or in warehouse topology in advance using historical data, which provides verification.

KiSoft SCE (Supply Chain Execution)

Warehouse operations such as order splitting that spans several warehouses, balancing stock and replenishment products between the warehouses, as well as cross-docking are made easy with KiSoft Supply Chain Execution module. Comprehensive warehouse statistics enable the easy and effective analysis of the complete supply chain, instead of just isolated warehouse processes.

KiSoft Track & Trace

The continual monitoring of the flow of goods across the boundaries of the warehouse and beyond using IT support (RF terminals) allows a 100% delivery check of goods directly at the customer's site. The system-guided return of empties (pallets, containers, cool boxes, etc.) is possible, and in a web portal, advance notice of customer returns can be given.

The constant tracking of the company fleet is possible with GPRS/GPS, guaranteeing complete data security. From the control centre, reacting to short term events is easily done and carriers can be flexibly controlled, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in the processes with the customer (store or end customer).
