psb quality back-up with simulation and emulation

Already, for several years, psb has successfully simulated logistics material flow processes, in order to verify the designed system concepts, under realistic conditions.
Now, psb has enhanced the reliability of the processes in the implementation of intralogistics system installations. By emulating the conveyor and warehousing technology, the selektron WMS/MFC software is routinely tested:
- independent of the installation of the systems and warehousing technology
- reproducibly
- safely (e.g. system disturbances, errors)
- quickly (not bound to real time, no preparation of materials)
For this purpose, psb develops a computer-based model, which, from the perspective of the control system, behaves like the real system installation. At psb, we build the material flow and warehousing technology ourselves; so, the know-how, necessary for the exact modelling, is available right »in house«, in our own premises.
Our customers benefit from reduced commissioning times, through a higher degree of quality and optimization of the software at the beginning of the integration tests. Additionally, psb can carry out the factory acceptance test, without limitations, i.e. without conveyor and warehousing technology.
Another plus: (a) the testing environment, inclusive of emulation, can be utilized later on for the test of software updates, and (b) as planning tool, when the system installation is in operation.
