SOLVO Celebrates 15th Anniversary

29.11.2010

SOLVO's history has been a journey from a small team of talented programmers who worked in USA for AGFA, Stroh’s Brewing, PolyGram Group Distribution, Wells and ColeParmer, to a major vendor of warehouse and container terminal automation systems.

SOLVO has worked in Russia since 1995. At that time, SOLVO solutions were perhaps a sole offering that existed at the market. The first Russian project implemented by SOLVO was fairly big. It dealt with the development of the First Container Terminal of the Saint Petersburg Sea Port. Up to date, SOLVO has successfully implemented over 110 automation projects. With many years' experience that SOLVO gained in the industry, SOLVO can provide customers with high quality and reliable products and services for warehouse and container terminal control and management.

SOLVO continues its dynamic growth based on a long-term program to promote its regional development, to strengthen its position on the market, and to build a reliable customer relations strategy aimed at fulfilling customers' maximum needs.

In line with the strategy, SOLVO opened a representative office in 2010 in Ukraine, where SOLVO started to operate as long ago as 2004. SOLVO systems are widely used by Ukrainian companies, such as DonPharm Holding (Donetsk), Quisa Trade (Velika Vishnia Trademark, Kiev), Planeta Service (Dnepropetrovsk), Falbi (Kiev), OmegaPostavka (Kharkov), etc.

In addition, SOLVO has targeted its products at new countries. For example, in fall 2010, SOLVO completed a project to deploy Solvo.WMS at warehouses of Natali Pharm, the largest pharmacy distributor in Armenia. A contract was signed between SOLVO and a Belarusian company to introduce a Solvo automation system to its manufacturing facilities.

As it appears, many customers decided to choose SOLVO systems as a universal corporate standard for all their divisions and departments. The advantage is that customers can then easily extend and upscale Solvo solutions to meet their changing requirements. SOLVO has remained this line of activity in 2010.

For example, SOLVO has carried out ten projects for Baltica Breweries for the last seven years, and Solvo.WMS has been used to automate most of finished product warehouses of Baltica across Russia. In 2010, SOLVO has implemented new automation projects for Baltica in Yaroslavyl and Khabarovsk.

Another example is Lebedianski that has used Solvo systems at its warehouses since 2006. In 2010, SOLVO automated another Lebedianski warehouse of the 14 thousand pallet capacity. One of the distinguishing features of the project is a solution for data exchange between Solvo.WMS and Lebedyansky's corporate systems at every phase of their logistic chain.

A second SOLVO project has been finished for OCS, National Computer Corporation, the largest Russian distributor of computer equipment. The project was aimed at porting a Solvo system to a Moscow warehouse, based on the settings and configuration of the Solvo deployment for OCS's Saint Petersburg warehouse.

The range of products and services offered by SOLVO has extended. A pilot project based on VoxWare's voice technology has been implemented for OmegaAutoPostavka's warehouse in Kharkov, Ukraine.

In the last year, SOLVO has concluded ten new contracts and, moreover, managed to complete some of the projects related to these contracts— for example, the Nevskaya Palitra painter paint factory (Saint Petersburg), ROYAL CANIN, leading producer of dog & cat foods (Moscow), and the Natali Pharm pharmaceutics distributor (Yerevan, Armenia). The high efficiency of the customer project management is achieved due to SOLVO's high quality engineering team that has advanced expertise and includes professionals who has worked for the company since its foundation.

As a result, SOLVO is able to invest extensively in its own marketing activities. Among other fulfillments of SOLVO in the last year is the opening of a brand-new two-language corporate web site. New, updated marketing materials provide an in-depth insight into SOLVO solutions for warehouses and container terminals.

SOLVO thanks all its partners for their choice of SOLVO products and hopes for new interesting projects.
