Danone Eaux extends International Roll-Out of Aldata Apollo Space optimization software

14.12.2009

Danone Eaux France, the supplier of leading water brands including Evian, Volvic and Badoit, has purchased Aldata’s Apollo Space Optimization software to maximize the sales potential of its products on retail shelves.

The company will use Apollo as part of a specific collaboration with Casino in France, aimed at optimizing sales of the Danone Eaux brands within the bottled water category in Casino hypermarkets.

Aldata’s Apollo Space Optimization is a suite of powerful, easy to use software modules that enable retailers and manufacturers to improve category performance and shelf reach. Used by retail and CPG companies worldwide, Aldata Apollo enables retailers to improve the space planning process utilizing advanced merchandizing rules, category assortments, performance criteria, and space constraints.

“Apollo is a very important tool for Danone Eaux, as it enables us to capture our own very specific intelligence and expertise in terms of optimizing space so as to maximize sales,” said Sylvie GREZAUD, National Merchandising Manager at Danone Eaux. “We can upload planograms to our retail partners to suggest ways in which we can make our brands sell better within the category. Of course, since Casino is also an Apollo customer, they can add a further level of optimization based on their own knowledge of customer behaviour in-store.”

“Eighty percent of consumer packaged goods are sold at the retail shelf, making this a critical part of any retailer’s business,” said Shaun Bossons, senior vice president of Aldata, Apollo. “Aldata’s Apollo Space Optimization suite enables retailers to better react to changes in customer shopping habits, improve the retailer-manufacturer category collaboration process and ensure that corporate plans are executed at the shelf level.”

Danone Eaux France achieved a net turnover of more than 1 billion Euros in 2006, with a volume of 3.5 billion litres.
