SOLVO.WMS adds Remote Management Capability to Regional Warehouses of Royal Canin

SOLVO has finalized the implementation of its WMS at regional warehouses of “RUSCAN Distribution” LLC (Royal Canin trademark).

SOLVO has finalized the implementation of its WMS at regional warehouses of “RUSCAN Distribution” LLC (Royal Canin trademark). Now, “RUSCAN Distribution” is able to manage its warehouse remotely from a central location in Moscow.

The first A-class warehouse complex automation project in Lubnya, Moscow Oblast, was already completed back in 2010. Then, in 2012, an additional warehouse complex, which was situated next to the company’s production facility in Kuzyaevo, underwent automation. The current phase is a step forward both for “RUSCAN Distribution” as well as for SOLVO since the project included the successful implementation of the new “Remote Warehouse” Solvo.WMS module.

The module concurrently manages two regional “RUSCAN Distribution” company warehouses. The server with the SOLVO.WMS system kernel, which contains the reference list with information about remote warehouses, is located at the central warehouse in Moscow. The system administrator receives individual information for each warehouse as well as for all warehouses simultaneously. The goods and packages reference list is standardized across all warehouses. These reference lists have an established group of characteristics, which can be assigned for a specific warehouse: ABC-classification, putaway rating and others. Thus, it can be said that each remote warehouse is still operating autonomously. In the given project, SOLVO not only played the role of a SOLVO.WMS system software provider, but also a system integrator by installing the software as well as a complete range of special equipment (hand-held terminals, label printers, radio networks etc.).

Warehouses of “RUSCAN Distribution” have been operating under this system of remote management for only a few months, however, signs of its undeniable advantages have already started to show: minimal software costs (in comparison to the SaaS model, the license belongs to the owner, who manages his own facilities and has all the necessary information regarding their operations), reduced expenses on server equipment and support, which is extended to all warehouses under one policy.
Plans for the future include the scaling up of the module to include other regional warehouse of “RUSCAN Distribution.”
