Syngenta selects Aldata for warehouse management and to meet European traceability legislation
06.04.2009
Syngenta has selected Aldata G.O.L.D. for warehouse management, with the aim of improving supply chain operations through optimized costs, quality of service delivered, and by tracking key information in warehouse operations.
Syngenta employs over 21,000 people in more than 90 countries, and achieved sales in 2008 of approximately $11.6 billion.
Aldata G.O.L.D. will be used at Syngenta’s warehouse in Saint-Pierre, France, which is the company’s principal site for producing plant protection products used by growers. In addition to warehouse management, Aldata G.O.L.D. will ensure all of the products created have labels displaying product origins and source, and that they are continuously tracked. From 2012 onwards, this will be mandatory in line with SEVESO II, the European legislation that aims to improve the safety of sites containing large quantities of potentially dangerous substances.
Aldata G.O.L.D. will enable Syngenta to have full traceability within its warehouse, and will integrate seamlessly with company’s ERP system. Another key purchasing criterion for Syngenta was the ability to roll out the Aldata solution across multiple markets. The company is considering further installations in a number of offices outside France.
Stephane Hameau, Logistics Manager, Saint-Pierre la Garenne, Syngenta, said, “We selected Aldata G.O.L.D. due to the company’s ability to deliver proven technology into our business. It was also able to integrate quickly and effectively with our ERP system.”
“This project will play a key role in supporting Syngenta as it puts technology at the heart of its business,” said Allan Davies, CMO, Aldata. “The delivery of Aldata G.O.L.D will also ensure that the company is fully prepared to meet all the necessary European legislative demands.”
