RedPrairie Announces New Warehouse Management

28.08.2006

RedPrairie Corporation announced a new release of DLx® Warehouse. The system is now implemented in over 450 customer sites across a variety of industries and is the most implemented warehouse management system (WMS) in Europe.

Stokenchurch, UK – RedPrairie Corporation, the world’s fastest growing supply chain company, today announced a new release of DLx® Warehouse. The system is now implemented in over 450 customer sites across a variety of industries from third party logistics to fast moving retail operations, and is the most implemented warehouse management system (WMS) in Europe.

The DLx® Warehouse application is multi-site and multi-client and is fully web enabled with all functionality available through a browser. This means Warehouse Managers and operators can access the WMS through an Internet connection, without the complexity of installing software on a dedicated PC therefore reducing installation costs. Clients, customers and suppliers can also view their particular requirements, which are tied to data and access permissions to ensure they only have visibility of details appropriate to their business.

The graphical user interface provides an ergonomic design that guides users within the environment with navigational cues. As with any web system, the system remembers your favourite views, which enables speedy access to your preferred screens.

The new release of DLx® Warehouse can now track products by weight, an example of this would be cheese or meat sold by kilogrammes rather than in units. The WMS captures the weight at the point of receipt and picking with manageable tolerances. As with all tasks, this can be completed in real-time on radio data terminals, voice terminals or via paper lists.

This release adds industry standard web services support using SOAP and WSDL to DLx® Warehouse. This allows external applications to easily interface data to, retrieve data from, and access core functionality within DLx® Warehouse, effectively making DLx® Warehouse a component in the supply chain.

DLx® Warehouse is the only fully integrated Customs and Excise WMS .The WMS is integrated to the RedPrairie duty management system, DutyMaster, allowing Customs and Excise capabilities to be managed as part of warehouse management operations. The latest release enables the user to deal efficiently with all aspects of the duty stamp regulations put in place by HM Revenue & Customs and supports the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS).
To better support customers outbound options an interface is available within DLx® Warehouse to allow communication to Precision Software’s TRAXi3 carrier label printing system.

DLx® Warehouse is also fully integrated to DLx® Labour, providing customers with robust resource planning and performance reporting tools. RedPrairie customers that have implemented a Workforce Performance Management (WPM) programme using DLx® Labour have achieved labour cost savings of 10-25%. The WPM programme provides customers with a tool to improve service level achievement, quality and employee morale. These additional cost savings are realised through the establishment of preferred work methods, accurate expectations for work tasks, and a comprehensive training approach that fosters a performance focused workforce and a continuous improvement environment.

Martin Hiscox, RedPrairie EMEA & APAC Managing Director comments “DLx® Warehouse is unique in being a proven, scalable, fully browser based WMS allowing our customers to deploy DLx® Warehouse for global multi-site roll-outs, as well supporting lower volume customers. This release further enhances its capabilities.”
