First order for Egemin Automation in Israel

New logistics platform for DB Schenker partner Orian in Tel Aviv.

Egemin Automation just received an order for the installation of an E’tow® in-floor chain conveyor system on the new logistics platform of Orian, partner of the DB Schenker Group, in Tel Aviv. Orian chose Egemin and its technology on the recommendation of DB Schenker and Schenker Joyau, for which Egemin has already automated dozens of similar logistics hubs.

A milestone

Egemin, market leader of in-floor chain conveyor systems in Europe, has reached a new milestone with this order: for the first time we are working on Israeli soil. The collaboration between DB Schenker and Egemin Automation is not new at all. Over the last few years Egemin has successfully automated over 20 logistics hubs with in-floor chain conveyor technology for DB Schenker throughout Europe.

The logistics platform in Tel Aviv will cover a total surface of 17,000 m². Egemin’s in-floor chain conveyor system will distribute the incoming goods, which are stored on pallets, to the storage area with shelves, the picking zone or to the cross-docking zone. The outgoing goods from the warehouse and the picking zone will be distributed via the same system to the various gates for distribution. E’arl®, Egemin’s system for automatic weight and volume measurement, handles the registration of the incoming goods.

A transfer in the system prevents the goods with destination cross-docking zone from first having to pass through the picking zone. The E’tow® installation will have a total hourly capacity of 200 pallets in and out, which can be easily increased in a later stage.

Large players in distribution (Schenker, Dachser, Norbert Dentressangle, K+N, DHL) and production (Honda, Renault) have called upon the expertise of Egemin for years in the field of in-floor chain conveyor systems. Egemin was also responsible for implementing impressive logistics projects for postal services (Danske Post, Deutsche Post, Royal Mail) and at flower auctions (FloraHolland, Rhein-Maas Auction).
