Optimal interaction of WMS and ERP systems

09.08.2023

The seamless integration of WMS and ERP systems offers considerable advantages for companies, as it enables optimized production planning and efficient warehouse management, among other things. Using various customer examples, we show how dovetailing the systems leads to increased performance and throughput rates in the double-digit percentage range.

Users are increasingly opting for conflict-free integration in which the systems work together. The IT infrastructure then extends from the higher-level ERP systems through WMS to the control of automation systems and processes. An example of optimal dovetailing is the machine manufacturer Koenig & Bauer Kammann, which uses a harmonious and conflict-free IT infrastructure after the introduction of PSIwms and PSIpenta.

Another example is elobau GmbH & Co. KG, which also implemented PSIwms for warehouse management and process control in addition to PSIpenta. The networking of both systems led to a drastic reduction in throughput times in production and an increase in process efficiency.

The close linking of ERP and WMS enables transparent warehouse management, precise control of intralogistics processes and reduced throughput times. The holistic approach enables efficiency increases of up to 20 percent.

Overall, the seamless integration of WMS and ERP provides significant benefits to companies by optimizing processes, increasing efficiency and ensuring reliable production supply operations. This contributes to improved overall performance and competitiveness.
