How Empik is equipping itself for omnichannel business with PSIwms
11.09.2024
The Empik Group, one of Poland's leading retail companies, has comprehensively modernized its central logistics center to meet the requirements of its omnichannel strategy. By restructuring the 53,000 m² distribution center and implementing a new warehouse management system, Empik has optimized its intralogistics to efficiently coordinate orders from stationary retail and e-commerce.
With the implementation of PSIwms, the Empik Group has created a central warehouse management system that enables synergies and cost savings. The PSI system integrates all goods movements and warehouse processes so that picking and staging processes can be carried out in a route-optimized and timely manner. This is particularly important to ensure the high flexibility and speed required for processing individual orders in the omnichannel business.
The logistics processes were redesigned in two phases: First, the supply of the stores and the introduction of an automated shuttle warehouse with 32,000 storage spaces were implemented. This was followed by the integration of e-commerce processes in the second phase. With these measures, Empik is ensuring that warehouse logistics can meet the growing demands of the market and continue to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. The comprehensive realignment of intralogistics thus strengthens Empik's competitiveness and lays the foundation for future growth.
