Kerbl opts for KiSoft WMS by KNAPP

04.11.2008

In the course of consolidating the entire storage areas of the group to one new distribution centre in Ampfing (Germany), Kerbl opted for the Warehouse Management System KiSoft WMS incl. KiSoft VOICE by KNAPP.

The success story of Kerbl began on a farm in 1962. The famous HK calving aid was used as a tool by Albert Kerbl’s father, an expert in difficult cow births. This tool was to become the foundation for an unequalled business success. Albert Kerbl saw the tremendous marketing potential of these calving aids and acquired the distribution rights. Today a broad range of products is being marketed worldwide with great success. In the business expansion of the KERBL Group, the emphasis has always been on a healthy growth and the expertise of the partners.

“Flexibility is the mark of modern companies and our motor of growth”, says owner Albert Kerbl. “In the decision process for the Warehouse Management System, the ability of the system to adapt to our future requirements was of utmost importance. The wide range of standard functions as well as the extensive knowledge of the staff regarding warehouse logistics convinced us. With KNAPP we have a system partner at our side who can provide us with anything we will need for the future due to the versatile scope of services.

Gerald Lassau, Managing Director of KNAPP Information Management, is looking forward to the cooperation with the expert for agricultural products. “With its innovative and wide variety of products, Kerbl is unique in the agricultural wholesale trade. In the future, Kerbl, with approx. 100 users in the warehouse, will profit from the voice-directed picking by an increased picking performance, a lower error rate and higher user mobility. In selected areas, which require a particularly flexible picking process with a clear overview of several positions, Kerbl will rely on KiSoft EPL (electronic pick list).”

KNAPP develops best-of-class software solutions in logistics with over 400 software engineers, and offers optimal service for its customers with 1,600 employees worldwide. Through years of experience in logistics combined with innovative software architecture, with the KiSoft Warehouse Management System including Pick-by-Voice, the customer benefits from proven best-practice processes (over 4,000 users in 16 countries) and short implementation times, thanks to the extensive and easily configured standard functions (1,100+ features).
