Broman Group continues to automate with Swisslog

Two years ago, the Finnish Broman Group chose Swisslog as partner for its advanced automated logistics center in Kerava, thirty kilometers northeast of Helsinki. Now the time has come to more than double the size of the logistics center and Swisslog has once again been chosen as the supplier.

With the expansion of the warehouse, the current 21,000 square metres will be extended to a total of46,000 square metres. With this major expansion, Broman Group will secure its storage capacity for many years to come.

»The highly automated warehouse in Kerava is equipped with themost advanced technology on the market. The new, expanded center will enable us to increase the number of product categories and the range in our online store. The center will also enable even faster handling and distribution of goods,« says Petri Nietula, Supply Chain Director, Broman Group.

With the expansion, Broman Group's logistics center in Kerava will be extended with a pallet solution consisting ofVecturahigh-bay cranes, ProMoveconveyor systemand seven pick stations, as well as a light goods solution consisting ofCarryPick robots and ten workstations. All this is controlled bySynQ WMS software. Previously, Swisslog has supplied the CycloneCarrier shuttle solution and a ProveMove conveyor system. Following the current expansion, the Broman Group has invested atotal of 70 million eurosin the logistics center.

The expansion of the warehouse has already started and the new facility is scheduled to be fully operational inearly 2024.
