KiSoft by KNAPP increases performance through process evaluation

03.10.2011

To complement a WMS, WCS or ERP system, the KiSoft WFM calculates target times (planned times) for incoming tasks in the warehouse, makes performance-related bonus calculations and offers the possibility to optimize routes in the warehouse.

Parameterisable calculation module

Due to the modular structure of KiSoft WFM, customer-specific warehouse tasks such as picking or fork lift activity can be easily depicted at any time in a parameterisable illustration. An analysis of the process and configuration of the various modules for the target time calculation is carried out during system installation. Settings are made during installation that take into account the set-up times, time modules, allocation times, operator mobility and fork lift activity, which are dependent on influences such as product characteristics, storage methods and equipment. Timing carried out at the end of installation forms the basis of the target times, e.g. according to standards set by the German REFA Association.

Fair bonus calculation

The performance-related evaluation and fair bonus calculation motivates employees. KiSoft WFM compares the determined target time with the actual times of the employee. For a comparable evaluation on a daily basis per activity and to make possible the determination of the performance indicators, the software takes into account the various influences on quality such as time logged in, trainer/trainee activities or substitutions and extra work.

Simulation of warehouse and route modifications

How do warehouse modifications or relocation of goods affect the picking times? With KiSoft WFM the warehouse modifications are first created virtually. Based on historical movement data, the effects of changes on target times can be simulated. The comparison delivers an optimal basis for decisions on where and to what degree picking restructuring pays off.

Advantages:

  • Reliable target times for picking
  • Fair bonus calculation by comparing expected vs. actual times while considering performance curves, trainer and trainee activities, bonus corrections for returns, group bonuses as well as substitutions and extra work
  • Comprehensive reports such as bonus evaluations, target time calculations, overviews of performance indicators and target time per order
  • Using historical movement data to simulate warehouse and route modifications or restructuring of picking procedures in order to check the effects of changes on target times
  • Simulation of premium calculations as well as target time per order
  • Flexible connection and integration into the system landscape
